Election Day, Tuesday, November 6th, is rapidly approaching! Do you know where to go vote? Health centers across the nation have helped thousands of people register to vote this year — do those people know where to go vote?
In 2008, 1.9 million voters didn’t show up to the polls simply because they did not know where to go.Now you can help people find their polling place (where they go to vote on Election Day) by sharing a new text message tool!
Our text message program allows anyone to text WHERE DO I VOTE or DONDE VOTO to 69866, and they will then be prompted to text their home mailing address and will receive a text back with their polling location*. This service is available in both English and Spanish. Here’s how it works:
Text WHERE DO I VOTE or DONDE VOTO to 69866
Help us share the polling place text locator! You can also print out flyers to hand out over the next week at your health center and in your community. Click here for more ideas how your health center can help Get Out The Vote.
You can be the difference if someone actually goes to the polls and votes on Election Day. Please help us share the polling place text locator by telling your friends, family, co-workers and community to text WHERE DO I VOTE or DONDE VOTO to 69866 to find out where to go vote on Tuesday, November 6th.
*Note: Poll location data may not be available right now for a few states, but all locations should be available through the polling place text locator by Tuesday, November 6th.
