In 2008, 1.9 million voters didn’t show up to the polls simply because they did not know where to go. Soon, you will be able to help people find their polling place (where they go to vote for the upcoming election) by sharing a new text message tool!
Campaign For America’s Health Centers (CFAHC) is adding a new service to our text message program that will allow anyone to text a specific keyword to our shortcode (69866), and they will then be prompted to text their home mailing address and will receive a text back with their polling location. This service will be available in both English and Spanish.
The new service is almost ready, and we hope you will promote this tool to your health center’s staff, patients and community! We will be sending out an email to all health center advocates once the new text message program is ready. Current CFAHC mobile users will also receive a text prompting them to use the service. If you aren’t already signed up to receive our text messages, you can sign up here — http://www.saveourchcs.org/mobile-advocacy-team.cfm — or join by texting ADVOCATE to 69866.
